Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove patient from contaminated area. If signs of toxicity
are observed seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Rinse with plenty of water, seek immediate medical
attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash with plenty of water. If irritation persists or signs
of toxicity are observed, seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: No known antidote, If signs of toxicity are observed, seek
medical attention.
Provide symptomatic/supportive care, monitoring
hematopoietic function as necessary.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, foam, carbon dioxide and dry powder are suitable
extinguishing agents.
Product arising from burning: Combustion products may contain carbon, nitrogen and sulfur
oxides together with some soot and chlorine containing
compounds.
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: Protective clothing and a self-contained breathing apparatus
should be worn.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Sweep up substance and place in an approved container for
disposal. Avoid dust formation, wear protective clothing (cf
2.3.1). Ventilate the area and wash down spill site. Do not
allow waste to enter watercourses. Dispose of waste by
incineration.
Handling and storage
Handling: Avoid dust formation. Use an approved respirator with high
efficiency particulate filter in conformance with BS4555.
Wear rubber gloves and safety glasses or goggles.
Storage: The substance should be stored inside a polyethylene bag
inside an air tight fibre drum.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery for reuse is not possible.
Attempts to recover result in conversion to the anti-isomer.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The salt may be neutralised with base such as aqueous sodium
hydroxide or carbonate. (A632)
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Disposal at a controlled landfill site is possible. (A650)
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Recommended method. The substance should be dissolved in a
flammable liquid and then incinerated. Waste gas treatment
to remove nitrogen and sulfur oxides together with
chlorinated compounds should be used. (A661)
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will not enter the public domain.
