Description of key information

Additional information

The aerobic biological degradation of the test item was estimated in a screening test according to OECD guideline 301B. The test item showed a degradation rate of 90 -100% CO2 within 28 days and fulfilled the OECD criteria for ready biodegradability. Depending on this results, the test item was estimated as readily biodegradable (BASF, 2012). Based on this information, the substance is expected to be rapidly biodegraded by microorganisms in both aquatic and terrestrial environments and therefore, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex IX, Column 2, 9.2.1.2, 9.2.1.3 and 9.2.1.4, further simulation testing on biodegradation of the substance in water, sediment and soil is not required.
