Cadmium hydroxide is pH basic and the cadmium ionic form is 2+, thus the dissociation constant relating to the acidity constant, pKa, as required by the IUCLID database and REACH Guidance document, is not relevant for the substance. Equilibrium of cadmium ion in water and cadmium hydroxide conditions is illustrated by figures 4 and 5 on page 19-20 of the attached report (Liipo J, Karhu J, Metsärinta M-L, Virta K, Wiik E, Santala M, Pihlasalo J, Salminen J, Tiihonen J and Harle S. (2010). Characterization of Pure Cadmium Compounds – cadmium hydroxide. Outotec report. Testing laboratory: Outotec Oy, Pori, Finland. Report no.: 10168-ORC-T. Report date: 2010-08-23
