Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No boiling point is available for the substance, Disilane, chloro Me derivs. One reliable measured value is available for the boiling point of 1,1,2,2-tetrachloro-1,2-dimethyl-Disilane (153 - 154 °C) and one reliable measured value for 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trimethyl-disilane (150 - 154°C); these values are reported in collections of reliable data which have been subject to peer review and in which the original data sources can be traced. Other results given in two other secondary sources, to which reliability could not be assigned, are 158°C and 155°C for 1,1,2,2-tetrachloro-1,2-dimethyl-Disilane and 1,1,2-trichloro-1,2,2-trimethyl-Disilane, respectively. There is no available measured data for 1,2-dichloro-1,1,2,2-tetramethyl-Disilane and a validated QSAR method has not been found for di-silane compounds. Given the similarity in the boiling points of the other two constituents, it can be estimated that 1,2-dichloro-1,1,2,2-tetramethyl-Disilane will be in a similar range.
