Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets
Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove the affected person in fresh air, loosen clothing as
necessary to assist with breathing. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately wash out eyes with large amounts of water.
Continue irrigation for at least 15 minutes, separating the
eyelids (with fingers) to ensure complete irrigation of the
affected eye(s). Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove all contaminated clothing and wash affected areas
with copious amounts of water. Seek medical attention.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Rinse out mouth with plenty of water. Seek medical
attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Use appropriate medium for underlying cause of fire. (eg.
carbon dioxide, dry chemical or foam)
Product arising from burning: carbon monoxide
carbon dioxide
Nefazodone II will not undergo hazardous polymerisation
Product determined by test: N
Protective equipment: full (impervious) clothing, with self-contained breathing
apparatus
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Wear full protective clothing: overalls, rubber boots and
gloves, eye protection and a self-contained respirator.
Sweep up spilled material, minimising dust? Transfer solid
waste to sealed containers and wash spillage site with
water.
Handling and storage
Handling: Use in well ventilated areas. Local exhaust ventilation and
careful use are recommended to minimise dust generation.
wear eye protection, overall and rubber gloves, and suitable
respiratory protection (approved to EN 136 standard). Wash
thoroughly after use.
Storage: Store in sealed, unbreakable containers in a cool dry place.

Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: None known
Chemical reaction with water: None known
Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Nefazodone II is consumed in the drug synthesis reaction in
which it is employed. Significant residual levels in reactor
effluent are not expected. No practical method of recovery
or recycling is known.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: No method of chemical neutralisation is known.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: Acceptable provided that a closed cycle incinerator with
scrubbers is employed.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: Not recommended.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Not recommended.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Nefazodone II is not intended for public use.
