Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A chronic earthworm study and an nitrogen transformation test was performed according to OECD 222 and OECD 216 respectively for the structurally similar substance DMDC (CAS 6864-37-5):
- Chronic earthworm test (OECD 222): 56-d EC10 for effects on reproduction: 228 mg/kg soil dw (95% CL: 115.6 / 450.8) (BASF, 2013; report No. 68E0695/00G009).
- Nitrogen tranformation test (OECD 216): 28-d EC10 > 1000 mg/kg soil dw (BASF SE, 2013; project no. 37G0695/00X032)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Invertebrates are the most sensitive group as indicated from aquatic toxicity data. A chronic earthworm study (limit test) is planned for the structurally similar substance DMDC (CAS 6864-37-5) to cover this endpoint in accordance with REACh guidance for compounds in soil hazard category 3 (Table R.7.11-2). Based on the outcome of this test and the screening level risk assessment, a decision will be rendered as to whether additional terrestrial toxicity testing is necessary for the test substance.
