Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data

First-aid measures

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. If not breathing give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen.

Skin contact: Wash off with plenty of water and soap for at least 15 minutes. Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. If irritation occurs or persists,

get medical attention. Wash clothing and shoes before reuse.

Eye contact: Rinse out with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes with the eyelid held wide open. Call a physician.

Ingestion: Wash out mouth with water provided person is conscious. Call a physician.

In any case seek medical advice and call the nearest poison centre.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: All common extinguishing media are suitable. Water spray, carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, foam.

Special fire-fighting procedures: NIOSH approved positive pressure. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective turnout gear.

Other information: May produce toxic fumes of carbon monoxide and nitrogen oxide. The composition of the combustion products has not been determined.

Prevent fire-fighting water from entering surface water or groundwater.

Accidental release measures

Person-related precautionary measures:

Evacuate area. Wear self-contained breathing apparatus, chemical safety goggles, rubber boots and heavy rubber gloves. Wear disposable coveralls and discard them after use.

Environmental-protection measures:

Do not allow to enter sewerage system.

Procedures for cleaning / absorption:

Soak up with inert absorbent material and dispose of as hazardous waste. Keep in suitable, closed

containers for disposal.

Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete.

Handling and storage

Precautions for safe handling:

Avoid exposure - obtain special instructions before use. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Avoid inhalation of vapour or mist.

Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:

Store in cool place. Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept

upright to prevent leakage.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls:

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Wash hands before breaks and

at the end of workday.

Personal protective equipment:

Protective clothing should be selected specifically for the working place, depending on concentration and quantity of the hazardous substances

handled. The resistance of the protective clothing to chemicals should be ascertained with the respective supplier.

Respiratory protection: Is required whenever air contamination (dust, mist, or vapors) is generated by the process. A NIOSH-approved high

efficiency toxic dust/mist/fume respirator is recommended.

Eye protection: required

Hand protection: In full and splash contact:

Glove material: PVC, Butyl-/Nitrile rubber

Layer thickness: 0.11 mm

The protective gloves to be used must comply with the specifications of EC directive 89/686/EEC and the resultant standard EN374.

This recommendation applies only to the product stated in the safe data sheet and supplied by us as well as to the purpose specified by us. When

dissolving in or mixing with other substances and under conditions deviating from those stated in EN374 please contact the supplier of

CE-approved gloves.

Industrial hygiene:

Immediately change contaminated clothing. Wash thoroughly after handling. General room ventilation is adequate unless the process generates

dust or fumes. Work clothing should be removed in a change room on site and laundered professionally. Employees should shower and change into streetclothes before leaving the facility. Prevent the accumulation of dust in the work area by thorough periodic cleaning of the area.

Environmental exposure controls and protective equipment:

Water:       Do not release into water. If in waste water, waste water treatment is required.

Air:       For industrial and professional uses air-filters may be required.

Soil:       Do not release into the soil.

Stability and reactivity

General Stability considerations:

Stable at room temperature

Conditions to be avoided: Light and elevated temperature

Substances to be avoided: Strong oxidizing agents, Acids, Bases, Acid chlorides

Hazardous combustion or decomposition products: Carbon monoxide, nitrogen  oxides

Further information: Hazardous polymerization does not occur.

Disposal considerations

Product: Dissolve or mix with combustible solvent and burn in an incinerator with afterburner and scrubber in accordance with local, state and federal regulations.

Packaging: Disposal in compliance with official regulations. Handle contaminated packaging in the same way as the substance itself. If not officially specified differently, non-contaminated packaging may be treated like household waste or recycled.
