Results and discussion

Flammable solids
Key result
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Moisture (wt %):
1
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

Any other information on results incl. tables

During an attempt to ignite the sample at one end of the continuously formed fill with an open flame (gas), the sample briefly burns, forming a black melt, but quickly extinguishes again. A spread of fire was thus not observed.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
GHS criteria not met
Conclusions:
The test substance is not highly flammable according to the criteria in Council Regulation (EC) No 440/2008, test method A.10.
Executive summary:

The substance Phytosphingosine Sulphate was tested on flammability properties according to the test method A.10 (EC-commission regulation no. 440/2008 of May 2008).

The substance Phytosphingosine Sulphate was not flammable under the given test conditions and is therefore to be rated as "not highly flammable".
