Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
INHALATION:
Remove to fresh air. If breathing is irregular or stopped, administer artificial respiration.
SKIN CONTACT:
After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water. Consult a physician.
EYE CONTACT:
In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Call a physician immediately.
INGESTION:
Call a physician immediately. Clean mouth with water and drink afterwards plenty of water. Do not induce vomiting without medical advice. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.
Fire-fighting measures
SUITABLE EXTINGUISHING MEDIA:
Dry powder, Water spray, Foam
SPECIFIC HAZARDS DURING FIRE FIGHTING:
Heating or fire can release toxic gas.
SPECIAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FOR FIRE FIGHTERS:
In the event of fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
ADDITIONAL ADVICE:
Use water spray to cool unopened containers.
Accidental release measures
GENERAL REMARK:
Substance is handled as intermediate in closed systems under strictly controlled conditions. Therefore, there will be neither exposure to workers or release to the environment. The substance is no longer present after processing. In the event of accident, in order to avoid contact with or release of the substance to the environment, personal and technical protective measures are mandatory.
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS:
Use a respirator when performing operations involving potential accidental exposure to vapour.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS:
Prevent product from entering drains in case of spillage.
METHODS FOR CLEANING UP:
Sweep up or vacuum up spillage and collect in suitable container for disposal and wear full protective clothing incl. goggles and gloves. Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.
Handling and storage
HANDLING:
Substance is handled as an intermediate in closed systems under strictly controlled conditions. Therefore, there will neither be exposure to workers or release to the environment. The substance is no longer present after processing. In order to avoid any contact with or release of the substance to the environment, personal as well as technical protective measures are mandatory.
SAFE HANDLING ADVICE:
Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
ADVICE ON PROTECTION AGAINST FIRE AND EXPLOSION:
Take precautionary measures against static discharges.
STORAGE:
REQUIREMENTS FOR STORAGE AREAS AND CONTAINERS:
To maintain product quality, do not store in heat or direct sunlight. Keep container tightly closed. Keep in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place.

Exposure controls / personal protection
GENERAL REMARK:
Substance is handled as an intermediate in closed systems under strictly controlled conditions. Therefore, there will neither be exposure to workers or release to the environment. The substance is no longer present after processing. In order to avoid any contact with or release of the substance to the environment, personal as well as technical protective measures are mandatory.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
HYGIENE MEASURES:
Avoid contact with skin, eyes, and clothing. Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product.
RESPIRATORY PROTECTION:
In the case of vapour formation use a respirator with an approved filter. Respirator with a vapour filter (EN 141).
HAND PROTECTION:
Suitable material: Nitrile rubber - Break through time : > 480 min
Take note of the information given by the producer concerning permeability and break through times, and of special workplace conditions (mechanical strain, duration of contact).
EYE PROTECTION:
Tightly fitting safety goggles
SKIN AND BODY PROTECTION:
Choose body protection according to the amount and concentration of the dangerous substance at the workplace. No special protective equipment required.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION MEASURES:
Use in tightly closed reaction vessel only. Waste or remainig substance has to be incinerated in an authorized incineration facility equipped with flue-gas scrubbing. Contaminated process waters have to be pre-treated in an industrial wastewater treatment plant before discharging.
Stability and reactivity
CONDITIONS TO AVOID
HEAT:
Exposure to sunlight.
MATERIALS TO AVOID:
Strong acids and strong bases, Reducing agents, Strong oxidizing agents
HAZARDOUS DECOMPOSITION PRODUCTS:
Nitrogen oxides (NOx), Carbon oxides
HAZARDOUS REACTIONS:
Stable under normal conditions.
Disposal considerations
GENERAL REMARK:
Substance is handled as intermediate in closed systems under strictly controlled conditions. Therefore, there will be no release to the environment. The substance is no longer present after processing. In order to avoid release of the substance to the environment, the disposal considerations must be followed.
WASTE FROM RESIDUES:
Dispose of in accordance with local regulations. Contact waste disposal services.
CONTAMINATED PACKAGING:
Where possible recycling is preferred to disposal or incineration.
