Conclusions:
The test item FAT 41047/B TE has no relative self-ignition temperature at and below 400 °C.
Executive summary:

The study on for determination of Relative Self-Ignition temperature of FAT 41047/B TE was performed. The test was carried out in accordance with EEC Test A.16. The test was carried out on test item as received, in triplicate. The computer was switched on and opened e-scan 9.0 mode. The program was selected to record temperature and time.

The SS wire mesh cube of 20x20x20 mm dimension and size of 0.045 mm was filled with the test item and tapped gently adding more of the test item until the cube was completely filled. The SS wire mesh cube, containing the test item, was suspended in the center of the oven at room temperature. The temperature sensors placed at the oven (Channel 2) and at the center of the sample cube (Channel 1) were monitored to record the temperatures during entire period. The equipment was switched on followed by the oven heater. The oven was heated up to 400 °C at the rate of 0.5 °C/min and the temperature of the oven and sample was continuously recorded with software.

On inspection of the sample basket, at the end of the experiment, it was observed and found that, the test item was decomposed and got charred. There was no ignition temperature observed for any of the three replications. Hence, from the results of the study it can be inferred that test item FAT 41047/B TE has no relative self-ignition temperature at and below 400 °C.

Description of key information

Additional information

The study for determination of relative self-ignition temperature of FAT 41047/B TE was performed according to the EEC Test A.16 Method. The test was carried out on test item as received, in triplicate. Based on the findings of the study, it was concluded that FAT 41047/B TE has no relative self-ignition temperature at and below 400°C.

In another study, the auto-ignition temperature of the test item FAT 41047/A was assessed in accordance with the EEC Directive Annex V of 67/548 Test A 15 auto-ignition temperature for liquids. Based on the findings of the study, the auto-ignition temperature of FAT 41047/A was determined to be 470 °C.
