Preliminary Visual Estimation of the Water Solubility

The preliminary visual experiments showed that the water solubility of the test substance is between 10 and 20 mg/L. Therefore the water solubility had to be determined by the "flask-method", but due to the arguments mentioned in chapter (Preliminary visual estimation of the water solubility) the column-elution-method was used.

Column elution method

The coating check was successful.

According to the guideline, the data of the fractions 1 to 5 were not take into account for the following evaluation. The values for the water solubility were calculated from the fractions 14 to 18 for column 5, from fractions 7 to 12 without 10 for column 6 and from fractions 25 to 29 for column 3.

Fractions 6 to 13 for column 5, fractions 6 and 10 for column 6 and fractions 6 to 24 and 30 to the end for column 3 were discarded.

Result run 3: Evaluation of the fractions 25 to 29. The measured concentration in a 0.5-1 mL dilution was found to be < 0.05 mg/L.

Result run 5: Evaluation of the fractions 14 to 18. The water solubility was found to be 2.94 mg/L.

Result run 6: Evaluation of the fractions 7 to 12 - without 10. The water solubility was found to be 2.71 mg/L.

Conclusions:
The water solubility of the test item at a temperature of 20°C is 2.8 mg/L.
Executive summary:

The water solubility of the test item was tested according to EU Method A.6 and OECD Guideline 105 in a GLP study via the column-elution method. The water solubility of the test item at a temperature of 20°C is 2.8 mg/L.
