Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Qualifier:
equivalent or similar to guideline
Guideline:
other: EC Regulation No.440/2008 Appendix A.10 Flammability(Solids)
Principles of method if other than guideline:
The test is carried out according to 33.2.1.4 in “EC Regulation No.440/2008 Appendix A.10 FLAMMABILITY(SOLIDS)”. The sample is formed a train by a specified mould; then burn one end of the train, observe and record the phenomena of combustion and the burning time.
GLP compliance:
no
Other quality assurance:
ISO/IEC 17025 (General requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories)
Test procedure:
burning rate test: preliminary screening test
Burning time:
>= 45 s
Remarks on result:
substance does not ignite and propagate combustion either by burning with flame or smouldering along 200 mm of the powder train within the 2 minutes test period

The method of assessing result is shown in Table3,where the mark“√”means a positiveresult.
