Description of key information

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

In a 48-hour semi-static test according to EU Method C.2, OECD Guideline 202 and EPA OPPTS 850.1010 the 48-hour EC50 of the test item was determined to be > 0.41 mg/L (geometric mean measured, corresponding to a nominal loading rate of 100 mg/L). The test item had no toxic effect to Daphnia magna up to and including aquatic saturation of the test item.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

The test item is a dye which stains the water and makes the performance of an algae toxicity study technically impossible. Thus, the study does not need to be performed according to REACH Regulation Annex XI, section 2.

Toxicity to aquatic plants other than algae

In a Growth Inhibition Test with Lemna sp. according to OECD Guideline 221 and Commission Regulation (EC) No 761/2009, Annex VI, C.26 the LOEC for growth rate and biomass were determined to be > 0.703 mg/L. The 7-d NOEC of the test item both for growth tate and biomass was determined to be 0.703 mg/L (geom.mean measured).
