The tests with the mixture potassium bromate and cellulose in ratios of 2:3 and 3:2 were not performed, because the burning time of the mixtures of the test item with cellulose was higher than the burning time of the reference mixtures 3:7.

The results of the mixtures of test item and cellulose are shown in Table3:

The burning time of the mixtures of the test item with cellulose (4:1 and 1:1) is greater than the burning time of the reference mixture of potassium bromate and cellulose (3:7). Due to the tests the test item does not have to be classified as oxidizing solid.

Interpretation of results:
other: not oxidizing
Conclusions:
The burning time of the mixtures of the test item Lithium salicylate with cellulose (4:1 and 1:1) was greater than the burning time of the reference mixture of potassium bromate and cellulose (3:7). Based on the test results the test item does not have to be classified as oxidizing solid.
Executive summary:

The burning time of the mixtures of the test itemLithium salicylatewith cellulose (4:1 and 1:1) was greater than the burning time of the reference mixture of potassium bromate and cellulose (3:7). Based on the test results the test item does not have to be classified as oxidizing solid. The test item does not have to be classified as oxidizing solid according to GHS and EC 1272/2008 (CLP Regulation) Annex 1: 2.14.

Description of key information

The burning time of the mixtures of the test itemLithium salicylatewith cellulose (4:1 and 1:1) was greater than the burning time of the reference mixture of potassium bromate and cellulose (3:7). Based on the test results the test item does not have to be classified as oxidizing solid.

In accordance with the results obtained in UN Test O.1 (Oxidizing Properties, Solids) the test item is classified as follows:

UN Transport Regulation

The test item does not have to be classified as oxidizing solid in Division 5.1 according to the UN Transport Regulation.

GHS and EC 1272/2008 (CLP Regulation), Annex 1: 2.14

The test item does not have to be classified as oxidizing solid according to GHS and EC 1272/2008 (CLP Regulation) Annex 1: 2.14.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

This study was GLP compliant and followed UN Test O.1. The study was given a reliability rating of 1 (reliable without restrictions).

Justification for classification or non-classification

The burning time of the mixtures of the test itemLithium salicylatewith cellulose (4:1 and 1:1) was greater than the burning time of the reference mixture of potassium bromate and cellulose (3:7). Based on the test results the test item does not have to be classified as oxidizing solid.
