For n-HMA acute studies of sufficient reliability are available for all three trophic levels, as well as reliable microbial toxicity data.

Summary

The test results for the aquatic toxicity of n-hexyl methacrylate indicate that the test substance is harmful to aquatic invertebrates ( QSAR: EC50 = 16.5 mg/L), toxic to fish (EC50= 7.4 mg/L) and and algae

( EC50 3.94 mg/L).

In a short-term, static study using the common freshwater ciliate Tetrahymena pyriformis (strain GL-C) the 50% impairment growth concentration (IGC50) is 19.93 mg/L.
