Description of key information

- OECD SIDS initial assessment report for SIAM 22 Oxo Alcohols C9 to C13 (18. – 21.04.2006): no carcinogenic potential assumed for Oxo Alcohols C9 to C13

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Justification for classification or non-classification

No carcinogenic potential is assumed for this test substance. Therefore, no classification according to 1272/2008/EC (CLP) criteria is required.

Additional information

There are no data available for CAS 27458-92-0 reporting in detail about carcinogenicity studies according to current testing standards. Also, no chronic toxicity or bioassay studies have been conducted on CAS 27458-92-0. Information of carcinogenicity is given from Oxo Alcohols C9 to C13 in the OECD SIDS initial assessment report for SIAM 22 Oxo Alcohol C9 to C13 (18. - 21.04.2006). Iso-Tridecan-1-ol as branched primary alcohol belongs to this group, therefore this information could be assigned for CAS 27458-92-0.

Based on the negative genotoxicity data, members of the Oxo Alcohol C9 to C13 Category are expected to have a low potential for carcinogenicity. Therefore, it is assumed that also iso-Tridecan-1-ol has a low potential for carcinogenicity.
