Administrative data
First-aid measures
General: Move person immediately from source of exposure. Provide first aid, warmth, rest and fresh air. If unconscious, loosen tight clothing. Place the person sideways in stable position.Inhalation: Move immediately the exposed person to fresh air. Give oxygen if breathing is difficult. Give artificial respiration only if patient is not breathing.Skin contact: Promptly wash with soap and water. Remove clothing if penetrated and rinse with water.Eye contact: Promptly wash eyes with plenty of water while lifting the eye lids. Continue to rinse for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.Ingestion: Rinse nose and mouth with water. Drink plenty of water. Get medical attention.Information for health personnel: Substance irritates the eyes, respiratory system and skin. Move person immediately from source of exposure. Provide first aid, warmth, rest and fresh air. If unconscious, loosen tight clothing. Place the person sideways in stable position.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media: Powder, foam or CO2. Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrounding fire.Improper extinguishing media: Do not use water if avoidable. Substance reacts with water. The reaction product is DTPA.Fire and explosion hazards: Fire or high temperature may causes formation of poisonous and corrosive gases: Carbon dioxide (CO2), Carbon monoxide (CO), Nitrous oxides (NOx).Fire fighting procedures: No specific fire fighting procedure given.Personal protective equipment: Do not breathe poisonous and corrosive gases. Use fresh-air equipment/smoke diving equipment to avoid skin and eye contact.
Accidental release measures
General measures: Sweep up spilled material, being careful not to create dust and place in a suitable container, label with the batch number and name. Avoid dust formation and diffusion of dust.Personal precautions: Wear full face air - purifying respirators, approved safety glasses and gloves.Environmental precautions: Use appropriate containers to avoid environmental pollution. Methods for cleaning: Flush remainder with water. Ventilate area.
Handling and storage
Handling: Avoid spill, skin and eye contact. Avoid handling which leads to dust formation. Ensure adequate ventilation.Storage: Store at moderate temperatures in dry, well ventilated area. Keep containers closed tightly.Special risks and properties: Substance is moisture sensitive. The substance reacts with water and form DTPA.Other Information Hygienic work practices:Wash your hands at the end of each work shift, and before eating and using the toilet. Wash promptly if skin becomes contaminated with soap and warm water. This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with the ECHA REACH Guidance on Intermediates (Feb 08). Sitedocumentation to demonstrate safe handling arrangements in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at Manufacturing site.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Recommended monitoring procedures: Dust measurement.Other Information about threshold limit values: Followed dust exposure Norwegian Standard Method.Occupational exposure controls: Work with DTPA dianhydride must take place in closed processes.Respiratory protection: Wear air purifying respirators (full face mask with particulate filter) if there is dust formation.Hand protection: Wear suitable protective gloves if risk of skin contact. Wear protective gloves made of: Neoprene, nitrile or polyethylene.Eye protection: Wear approved safety glasses.Skin protection (other than of the hands): Wear appropriate clothing (Flame inhibition EN 531A, Antistatic PREN 1149-3) to prevent any possibility of skin contact.Other Information: This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with the ECHA REACH Guidance on Intermediates (Feb 08). Site documentation to demonstrate safe handling arrangements in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at Manufacturing site.Ensure good ventilation at work that lead to dust generation.Environmental exposure controls: Internal dust standard in the working atmosphere is 5 mg/m³ (8-hour day).
Stability and reactivity
Conditions to avoid: Reacts with water. Can decompose when exposed to moisture or water. Emitted hazardous gases when heated to decomposition.Materials to avoid: The substance is incompatible with water, acids, bases and oxidizing compounds.Hazardous decomposition products: Fire or strong heat may develop toxic and corrosive gases: Carbon dioxide (CO2), Carbon monoxide (CO), Nitrous oxides (NOx).Stability: Unstable in contact with water.
Disposal considerations
Specify the appropriate methods of disposal: Collect material delivered to the authorized receiver for destruction.
