Skin sensitization
In different studies, 7-(benzoylamino)-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid, (132-87-6) has been investigated for potential of skin sensitization to a greater or lesser extent. The studies are based on in vivo experiments in guinea pig and human for target chemical 7-(benzoylamino)-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid, (132-87-6).The predicted data using the OECD QSAR toolbox and Danish QSAR has also been compared.
The skin sensitization potential of 7-(benzoylamino)-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid, (132-87-6) was estimatedby SSS (2017) using OECD QSAR toolbox v3.3 with log kow as the primary descriptor and considering the six closest read across substances. 7-(benzoylamino)-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid, (132-87-6) was predicted to be sensitizing to the skin of female Dunkin-Hartley guinea pig.
Another prediction done using the Danish (Q) SAR Database, the skin sensitization was estimated to be positive on guinea pig and human for 7-(benzoylamino)-4-hydroxynaphthalene -2-sulfonic acid. Using Battery algorithm model of Danish QSAR, Allergic Contact Dermatitis for 7-(benzoylamino)-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid, (132-87-6) estimated to be sensitizing when applied to human and guinea pig skin.
Thus based on the above predictions on 7-(benzoylamino)-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid, (132-87-6)andapplying weight of evidence, it can be concluded that 7-(benzoylamino)-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid is a skin sensitizer. Thus comparing the above annotations with the criteria of CLP regulation, 7-(benzoylamino)-4-hydroxynaphthalene-2-sulfonic acid, (132-87-6) can be considered as "classified" for skin sensitization.
