The substance is insoluble in water (A.6 Water solubility Report S3016010075R1, 2021) and not readily biodegradable according to OECD criteria (≤15% after 28 d, OECD 301C). The adsorption potential of the substance is high (log Koc: 7.87 - 8.91, MCI, KOCWIN v2.00) indicating sorption to sediment and soil if released to the environment. The Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.7b (ECHA, 2017) states that once insoluble chemicals enter a standard STP, they will be extensively removed in the primary settling tank and fat trap and thus, only limited amounts will get in contact with activated sludge organisms. Nevertheless, once this contact takes place, these substances are expected to be removed from the water column to a significant degree by adsorption to sewage sludge (Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment, Chapter R.7a, (ECHA, 2017)). Thus, discharged concentrations of this substance (if at all) into the aqueous/sediment and soil compartment are likely to be low. Volatilisation and subsequent transport through the atmosphere are not expected based on the low vapour pressure (2.3E-07 hPa (20 °C); EU A.4, effusion method, regression curve). A bioaccumulation or biomagnification of the substance is not expected based on the low experimentally determined BCF < 6.2 (OECD 305) and BCF/BAF values well below 2000 L/kg estimated by QSAR (BCFBAF v3.01, VEGA 1.1.4).
