Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

- EC50 (72 h) values for Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata 1303.2 mg/l and 1318.3 mg/l (growth rate) (OECD 201 and EU Method C.3)
- NOEC (72 h) values for Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata 219.2 mg/l and 216.8 (growth rate) (OECD 201 and EU Method C.3)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
1 300 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
217 mg/L

Additional information

SCP liquors showed rather low toxicity to aquatic algae, which were less sensitive organisms for the substance than aquatic invertebrates according to the test results. The supporting study showed even lower toxicity to algae (EC50 > 4000 mg/l) than the key studies, probably due to more dilute samples.

Algae:

EC50 (72 h) values for Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata were 1303 mg/l, 1318 mg/l and 4150 mg/l (n=3).

NOEC (72 h) values for Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata were 219 mg/l and 217 mg/l (n=2).
