Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A read-across to 4,4'-MDA CAS 101-77-9 was made in order to adopt these data to classification and labeling. This read-across is considered valid as this substance contains significant amounts of free 4,4'-MDA which is supposed to contribute most to toxic effects. Thes study was carried out according to GLP (certificate included) and in which all described parameters are closely comparable to the standard OECD Guideline 211 method. The 21d NOEC value of 0.00525 mg/l indicates that MDA is toxic to invertebrates. The results confirm that for 4,4'-MDA invertebrates are the most sensitive species of the three trophic levels of the base set (fish, daphnia and algae).

With moina macrocopa, the 14 d NOEC was 0.15 ppm (Fujiwara 1982)
