First-aid measures
In case of inhalation:
- Move the person away from the contaminated area.
- Keep at rest
- Seek medical advice.
In case of skin contact :
- Remove all contaminated clothing and footwear.
- Wash immediately and thoroughly for a prolonged period (at least 15 minutes).
- In case of inflammation (redness, irritation, ...) obtain medical attention.
In case of eye contact:
- Immediately rinse with plenty of running water for a prolonged period, (at least 15 minutes) whilst keeping the eyes wide open.
- Get immediate medical advice/ attention.
In case of ingestion:
- NEVER attempt to induce vomiting.
- Do not give anything to drink.
- If necessary seek medical advice.
Furher information:
- Establish a first aid action plan before using this product.
- Use appropriate protective equipment when treating a contaminated person.
- Place contaminated clothing in a sealed bag for disposal.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
- Suitable: Carbon dioxide (CO2), Water spray, Foam
- Not suitable: Strong water jet.
Specific hazards:
- Flammable liquid.
- Toxic vapours are released.
- Suitable : Carbon dioxide (CO2) Water spray Foam
Specific fire fighting methods:
- Cool down the containers/equipment exposed to heat with a water spray.
- Do not breathe fumes.
- Evacuate the personnel away from the fumes.
- Do NOT attempt to fight the fire without suitable protective equipment. Stay upwind.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions:
- Remove all sources of ignition.
- Evacuate personnel to safe areas.
- Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.
- Cover the spreading liquid with foam in order to slow down the evaporation.
- Ventilate the area.
Environmental precautions: Prevent the product from spreading into the environment.
Methods for cleaning up:
- Recovery: Pump up the product into a spare container; suitably labelled, made of stainless steel, with a closing device.
- Neutralization: If recovery is impossible, or if the pools are too small: Cover the pool of liquid with inert absorbent material.
- Cleaning/Decontamination: Wash non-recoverable remainder with large amounts of water.
- Disposal: Incinerate contaminated materials at an authorized installation.
Handling and storage
HANDLING
Technical measures
- Keep in a bunded area.
- Earth the equipment.
- Vapour extraction at source
- Heating can release vapours which can be ignited.
- Used in closed system
- This product must only be handled by skilled operators
- No smoking.
- Obtain special instructions before use.
- Provide adequate ventilation.
- Do not get in eyes or mouth or on skin.
STORAGE
Technical measures/Storage conditions
- Storage facilities should be equipped with a compulsory fire extinguishing system.
- The floor of the depot should be impermeable and designed to form a water-tight basin.
- Store in a cool, well-ventilated area, away from any source of ignition.
- Packaging: Polyethylene or polypropylene drums. (high density)

Exposure controls / personal protection
Engineering measures
- Effective exhaust ventilation system
- Separate rooms are required for washing, showering and changing clothes.
- Avoid splashes.
- Air monitoring at regular intervals.
- Reduce the duration of exposure to the minimum required.
- The danger areas must be delimited and identified using relevant warning and safety signs.
- Prevent unauthorised persons entering the zone.
Individual protection measures
Respiratory protection:
- If exposure is likely to exceed the occupational exposure limit: Respiratory protective device with a vapour filter (EN 141).
Hand protection:
- Use suitable chemical-resistant protective gloves (compliant with Standard EN 374-1)
- The selection of gloves must take into account the extent and duration of use at the workstation. Protective gloves must be chosen according to the function of the work station: other chemicals which may be handled, physical protection necessary (resistance to cutting, puncture, heat), dexterity required.
- Protective gloves made of PVC.
Eye protection
- Safety glasses with side shields.
- If there is a risk of liquid being splashed: Safety glasses and a face shield.
Skin and body protection:
- Wear suitable protective clothing, gloves and eye/face protection.
- Selection criteria: Protective equipment must be chosen according to current CEN standards and in cooperation with the supplier of protective equipment. Personal protective equipment must be defined after risk assessment for the workstation.
Hygiene measures
- Emergency equipment immediately accessible, with instructions for use.
- Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location.
- Use clean, well-maintained personal protection equipment.
- Store personal protection equipment in a clean location away from the work area.
- When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
- Keep working clothes separately.
- Wash hands before breaks and immediately after handling the product.
Stability and reactivity
Stability: Stable at room temperature under recommended storage conditions.
Hazardous reactions
- Materials to avoid: alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, bases, oxidizing agents.
- Hazardous decomposition products: On thermal decomposition (pyrolysis) releases: toxic gases
Disposal considerations
RESIDUES FROM PRODUCT
- Prohibition: Do not allow the product to be released into the environment. Do NOT discharge into drains.
- Destruction/Disposal: Must be incinerated in a suitable incineration plant holding a permit delivered by the competent authorities.
CONTAMINATED PACKAGING
- Prohibition: Do not burn, or use a cutting torch on, the empty drum.
- Decontamination/cleaning: Allow it to drain thoroughly. Clean with cold water.
- Destruction/Disposal: Entrust the thoroughly decontaminated packaging to a licensed waste-contractor.
NOTE: The user's attention is drawn to the possible existence of local regulations regarding disposal.
