First-aid measures
First aid
General: In all cases of doubt, or when symptoms persist, seek medical attention.
Inhalation: Dust may be irritating to the respiratory tract and cause symptoms of bronchitis. Move to fresh air. If symptoms persist, seek medical advice
Skin: Wash immediately with soap and water. If skin irritation or rash occurs: Get medical advice/attention
Eye: Rinse thoroughly with plenty of water. Eyelids should be held away from the eyeball to ensure thorough rinsing. Always seek medical advice.
Ingestion: Rinse mouth, give water to drink. Seek medical advice
Advice to physician: To be regarded as exposure to strong acid.
Fire-fighting measures
Unsuitable extinguishing media: water (Formation of: HCl)
Hazardous decomposition / combustion products: hydrochloric acid (HCl), chlorinated hydrocarbons
Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory equipment.
Fire and explosion hazard: In case of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes.
Accidental release measures
Respiratory: respirator with Filter A/p2.
Hand: protective gloves.
Eye: Wear eye/face protection
Skin and body: protective clothing. Remove contaminated clothing. Launder clothes before reuse.
Environmental precautions: Do not empty into drains.
Methods for cleaning up: Collect as much as possible in a clean container for (preferable) reuse or disposal. Flush remainder with water.
Handling and storage
Handling: Avoid dust generation. Ensure good ventilation and local exhaustion of the working area. Take any precaustion to avoid mixing with combustibles.
Fire and explosion prevention: Keep away from heat/sparks/open flames/.../hot surfaces. .. No smoking;
Storage requirements: Store in a corrosive resistant/... container with a resistant inner lining. Keep in a cool place. Keep container tightly closed and dry. Keep/Store away from clothing/.../combustible materials.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Hand: Wear chemically resistent gloves tested to EN 374. Take attention to breakthrough time of Tosyl chloride.
Eye: Wear eye/face protection
Skin and body: Wear suitable coveralls to prevent exposure to the skin. Remove contaminated clothing. Launder clothes before reuse.
Stability and reactivity
Stable under recommended storage and handling conditions.
May be corrosive to metals. To maintain quality: Protect product from moisture and wet air. Keep container tightly closed and dry
Disposal considerations
Contaminated packaging: According to local regulations.
