When rats were dosed with dibutyl hydrogen phosphate, much of it (47.6%) was recovered intact, and only small amounts of the carboxylated (0.1%) or hydroxylated (0.08%) (in the butyl side chain) derivates were formed, as well as some butyl dihydrogen phosphate (0.03%) was found.


After a single intraperitoneal dose of tributyl phosphate at 250 mg/kg bw, the major metabolite were dibutyl hydrogen phosphate, butyl dihydrogen phosphate and butyl bis(3-hydroxybutyl) phosphate.

Male Wistar rats (180 -210 g) were given a single intraperitoneal (ip) injection of dibutyl hydrogen phosphate dissolved 10% in corn oil at a dosage of 250 mg/kg bw. Urinary metabolites were investigated on day 1-3 after application.


When rats were dosed with dibutyl hydrogen phosphate, the majority (47.6 %) was recovered intact, and only small amounts of the carboxylated (0.1 %) or hydroxylated (0.08) (in the butyl side chain) derivates were formed, as well as some butyl dihydrogen phosphate (0.03 %) was found.
