Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

A literature review was conducted. In a weight of evidence approach the literature values were evaluated. The Registry database reports 3 independent entries for the boiling point of the substance. Ralston, A. W 1940 (Registry 2014AB) reports the boiling point to be at 129 °C and Prakasha and Kothathi 2007 (Registry 2014B) report the boiling point to be in range of 128-130 °C. Furthermore Groszkowski, S 1960 (Registry 2014C) reports the boiling point to be in range of 129-130 °C. Three independent literature sources report the melting point in the same range. The most recent literature value was regarded as most reliable source. Thus a boiling range of 128-130 °C was chosen as key value for chemical safety assessment.
