Additional information

Short-term toxicity to fish

SIKA Hardener LH was assessed in a short-term toxicity to fish study, according to EU method C.1 and OECD guideline 203. A water accommodated fraction (WAF) of 100 mg/L was prepared and nominal concentrations of up to 100 mg/L tested. Young fish were exposed in a static test to the test item for 96 hours at a nominal concentration of 100.0 mg/L. The 96 h-LC50 was determined to be greater than 100 mg/L and the 96 h-NOEC was determined to be 100 mg/L.

Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates

SIKA Hardener LH was assessed in a short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates study according to EU method C.2 and OECD guideline 202. A water accommodated fraction (WAF) of 100 mg/L was prepared and nominal concentrations tested. Young Daphnia were exposed in a semi-static test to test item at a nominal concentration of 100 mg/L. The 48 h-EC50 was determined to be 59 mg/L and the 48 h-NOEC to be 10 mg/L.

Toxicity to aquatic algae and cyanobacteria

SIKA Hardener LH was assessed in an aquatic toxicity test to algae according EU-method C.3 and OECD guideline 201. A water accommodated fraction (WAF) of 100 mg/L was prepared and nominal concentrations of up to 100 mg/L tested. An additional test was performed with seven concentrations ranging from 4.6 to 460 mg/L. This experiment was used for the evaluation of the results. The 72 h-EC50 based on growth rate was determined greater than 460 mg/L. The NOEC was determined to be 22.0 mg/L.

Toxicity to microorganisms

SIKA Hardener LH was assessed in an activated sludge respiration inhibition test, according to the EU-method C. 11 and OECD guideline 209. The 3-hour EC50 was determined to be greater than 1000 mg/L and the 3-hour NOEC determined at 1000 mg/L.
