Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Log partition coefficient for the substance is >5.6.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

An attempt was made to determine partition coefficient for this substance using the shake-flask method, but a sample-water-octanol emulsion formed in the aqueous phase and the test had to be terminated. Partition coefficient was therefore estimated based on the individual solubilities of octanol and water (Chilworth 2012) and a log Kow of >5.6 was determined.

Partition coefficient was also measured for this substance in a GLP-compliant study following OECD guideline 117, HPLC method (Hamilton Garrod 1995). As this test method is not considered to be appropriate for this substance, due to the surface active nature of the test item, this is used as a supporting study only. This study determined that the log Kow for this substance is in the range 3.08 - >6.
