Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

General Information

Remove affected person from source of contamination.

Inhalation.

Move into fresh air and keep at rest. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Ingestion

Rinse mouth thoroughly. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Skin Contact

Wash the skin immediately with soap and water. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Eye Contact

Immediately flush with plenty of water for up to 15 minutes. Remove any contact lenses and open eyes wide apart. Get medical attention immediately.Continue to rinse. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

Continue to rinse. Get medical attention if any discomfort continues.

MOST IMPORTANT SYMPTOMS AND EFFECTS, BOTH ACUTE AND DELAYED :

Inhalation.

May cause damage to mucous membranes in nose, throat, lungs and bronchial system.

Eye Contact

May cause temporary eye irritation.

Fire-fighting measures

Extinguishing Media

Small fires: Dry powder or carbon dioxide. Larger fires: Water spray, fog or mist. Foam.

Unsuitable Extinguishing Media

Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the fire.

Dry chemical, CO2, alcohol-resistant foam or water spray. Move containers from fire area if you can do it without risk. Bund/Dike fire control

water for later disposal; do not scatter the material.

SPECIAL HAZARDS ARISING FROM THE SUBSTANCE OR MIXTURE

Hazardous Combustion Products

When heated, toxic and corrosive vapours/gases/fumes may be formed. Carbon monoxide (CO), Carbon dioxide (CO2), Carbonyl fluoride(COF2),

Hydrogen fluoride (HF).

Unusual Fire & Explosion Hazards

Heat may cause the containers to explode.

Specific Hazards

In case of fire, toxic gases may be formed.

ADVICE FOR FIREFIGHTERS

Special Fire Fighting Procedures

If possible, fight fire from protected position. NOTE! Use air-supplied respirators to protect against gases/fumes. Move container from fire area if it can be done without risk. Use special protective clothing. Regular protection may not be safe. Water spray should be used to

cool containers.

Accidental release measures

PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS, PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES :

Ensure suitable personal protection (including respiratory protection) during removal of spillages in a confined area. Use protective gloves,

goggles and suitable protective clothing. Keep up-wind to avoid fumes. Warn everybody of potential hazards and evacuate if necessary.

Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Use personal protective equipment.

Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Keep people away from and upwind of spill/leak.

ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS

Avoid discharge into drains, water courses or onto the ground.

Avoid release to the environment.

Do not allow material to contaminate ground water system. Should not be released into the environment. Prevent further leakage or spillage if

safe to do so. Prevent product from entering drains.

METHODS AND MATERIAL FOR CONTAINMENT AND CLEANING UP

Absorb spillage with non-combustible, absorbent material. Transfer to a container for disposal. Cover powdered spills with plastic sheet or

tarpaulin to minimise spreading and protect from water.

SPECIFIC GUIDANCE

Avoid heat, flames and other sources of ignition.

Do not discharge into drains, water courses or onto the ground.

Handling and storage

PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING

Wear full protective clothing for prolonged exposure and/or high concentrations. Mechanical ventilation or local exhaust ventilation is required.

Provide good ventilation. Avoid inhalation of dust and contact with skin and eyes. Wash throughly after handling.

Wear personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothing. Ensure adequate ventilation. In case of insufficient

ventilation, wear suitable respiratory equipment. Handle product only in closed system or provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at machinery.

CONDITIONS FOR SAFE STORAGE, INCLUDING ANY INCOMPATIBILITIES

Avoid contact with oxidising agents. Store in tightly closed original container in a well-ventilated place. Store locked up.

Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place.

Keep in properly labeled containers. Keep out of the reach of children.

Exposure controls / personal protection

EXPOSURE CONTROL :

Engineering Measures

Provide adequate ventilation. Observe occupational exposure limits and minimize the risk of inhalation of dust. Provide eyewash station and safety shower.

Respiratory Equipment

If ventilation is insufficient, suitable respiratory protection must be provided.

Hand Protection

Use protective gloves.

Eye Protection

Wear approved safety goggles.

Other Protection

Wear appropriate clothing to prevent any possibility of skin contact.

Hygiene Measures

Wash hands after handling. When using do not eat, drink or smoke.
