Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

For 2-chlorobutane a vapour pressure of 20210 Pa at 25 °C has been determined in a weight of evidence approach and is taken forward for hazard and risk assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
20 210 Pa
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

In standard handbooks and publications the following data for vapour pressure of 2-chlorobutane were identified:

- Dreisbach et al. : 20210 Pa at 25 °C

- Riddich et al. : 20.21 kPa at 25 °C

- SRC database: 157 mm Hg (i.e. 20.9 kPa) at 25 °C

- CRC-handbook: approx. 20 kPa at 25 °C based on values of 10 kPa at 8.5 °C and 100 kPa at 67.9 °C

as a result the value of Dreisbach et al. and Riddick et al. is taken forward for hazard and risk assessment both in the same range as values found in the SRC database and the CRC handbook.
