The samples were accurately weighed on a Mettler ME analytical balance directly into aluminum pans with lids over the samples.The sample mass was about 10 mg.
The sample and reference compartments were continuously purged with nitrogen gas during the DSC scans, which were carried out at heating rates of 20°C.min-1 over a temperature range from 50 to 400 °C. The output of the TA Q20 differential scanning calorimeter was calibrated using samples of indium (T onset m.p. 156.6°C) and lead (T onset m.p. 327.5 °C).
