Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Details on results:
DECREASE IN CONCENTRATION: After 2.4 hours the following concentrations  were found:
   pH 4: analysis not successful
  pH 7: < 0.5 mg/l starting material; 15.3 mg/l isobutyraldehyde,  4.7  mg/l isophorone diamine
 pH 9: < 0.5 mg/l starting material; 17.4 mg/l isobutyraldehyde, 14.7  mg/l isophorone diamine
DEGREE OF DEGRADATION:
  > 97 % (pH 4);
> 98 % (pH 7);
> 99 % (pH 9) after 2.4 hours at 50 °C
OTHER OBSERVATIONS:
- Incomplete recovery of starting material at t = 0 indicates exceeding of solubility
- GC analysis of reaction products was not possible at pH 4 due to  disturbance by buffer (isobutyraladehyde) and protonation (isophorone  diamine).
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
Isophorone diamine isobutyraldimine is hydrolyzed completely within 2.4 hours at 50 °C and pH 4, 7, and 9 each. Hydrolysis half-lives below 30 min under these test conditions correspond to half-lifes below five hours at 25 °C.
Executive summary:

In a GLP study according to OECD Test Guidline 111 (1981), isophorone diamine isobutyraldimine was hydrolyzed completely within 2.4 hours at 50 °C and pH 4, 7, and 9 each. Hydrolysis half-lives below 30 min under these test conditions correspond to half-lifes below five hours at 25 °C.
