Conclusions:
The Partition coefficient (Pow) of the test chemical was determined to be -2.812±0.229 at 25 °C± 1°C.
Executive summary:
The partition Coefficient n-octanol/water of test chemical was determined by OECD Guideline No. 107, adopted on 27th July 1995,”Shake Flask Method”.

Two solvent were mutually pre-saturated at experiment temperature 25°C± 1°C. on the mechanical shaker, one containing n-Octanol with 0.280 mL of water and the other containing water with 0.470 mL of n-octanol for 100mL stock were shaken for 24 hours on a mechanical shaker. A stock solution was be prepared in n-Octanol (presaturated with water) by accurately weighing the test chemical which was introduced into 30 mL (1:1), 20 mL (1:2) and 40 mL (2:1) of pre-saturated n-Octanol respectively and mix with ratios of pre-saturated water. After separation, both the aqueous phase and n-Octanol phase were analyzed by Spectrophotometer.

The partition coefficient was calculated, from the measured concentration of test chemical in the organic and aqueous phases. The log Pow value was determined to be -2.812±0.229 at 25°C± 1°C. Thus it can be concluded that the test chemical is hydrophilic in nature .
