First-aid measures

- General advice:  First aider needs to protect himself. Move injured person out of dangerous area. Lie down unconscious person in the recovery position and cover to prevent hypothermia. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. In the case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately (show the label where possible).

- If inhaled: Remove to fresh air. Make the victim blow his nose. Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed. Get medical attention immediately if symptoms occur.

- In case of skin contact: Wash off immediately with soap and plenty of water. Take off contaminated clothing and shoes immediately. Get medical attention immediately if symptoms occur.

- In case of eye contact: Rinse immediately with plenty of water, also under the eyelids, for at least 15 minutes. Keep eye wide open while rinsing. If easy to do, remove contact lens, if worn. Get medical attention immediately if symptoms occur.

- If swallowed: Rinse mouth with water. Drink 1 or 2 glasses of water. Do NOT induce vomiting. Get medical attention immediately if symptoms occur.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media: Carbon dioxide (CO2), Dry powder, Alcohol-resistant foam

- Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water

- Specific hazards during firefighting: Exposure to decomposition products may be a hazard for health. In case of fire hazardous decomposition products may be produced such as: Carbon oxides, Gaseous hydrogen chloride (HCl)

- Special protective equipment for firefighters: Wear full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).

- Further information for firefighters: In the event of fire and/or explosion do not breathe fumes. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. This must not be discharged into drains. Keep containers and surroundings cool with water spray.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions : Ensure adequate ventilation. Evacuate personnel to safe areas. Do not get in eyes or mouth or on skin. Do not breathe vapour. Use personal protection equipment. Remove all sources of ignition.Keep unprotected personnel from entering.

- Environmental precautions : Prevent further leakage or spillage. The product should not be allowed to enter drains, water courses or the soil.

- Methods for cleaning up : Soak up with inert absorbent material. Pick up and transfer to properly labelled containers. Pick up and arrange disposal without creating dust. Clean contaminated surface thoroughly. If reuse of spilled substance/mixture is not possible, it should be disposed as hazardous waste.

Handling and storage

- Advice on safe handling : Provide sufficient air exchange and/or exhaust in work rooms.

- Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Use only in area provided with appropriate exhaust ventilation. Keep product and empty container away from heat and sources of ignition. No sparking tools should be used. Take measures to prevent the build up of electrostatic charge.

- Hygiene measures : Do not get in eyes or mouth or on skin. Avoid breathing vapor. Take off all contaminated clothing immediately. Wash hands and face before breaks and immediately after handling the product. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Regular cleaning of equipment, work area and clothing. Handle in accordance with good manufacturing and safety practice.

- Storage conditions : Keep in a well-ventilated place. Keep container tightly closed. Protect from light, moisture and damage.

Exposure controls / personal protection

- Protective measures : Keep it accessible to employees only. Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location. Personal protective equipment should be inspected prior to use and applied in accordance with the purpose and the manufacturer's instructions.

The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the exposure time and amount of the dangerous substance/mixture at the specific workplace.

When working with < 1 l of liquid with high level volatility for more than 30 min or with > 1 l of liquid with high level volatility or with < 1000 l of liquid with medium level volatility for more than 30 min or with > 1000 l of liquid with medium level volatility:

- Engineering and organizational protective measures:

Use of containment strategy equipment. Closed cleaning system or multi -phase cleaning equipment. Only operators trained in emergency evacuation procedures are allowed to access the area. Wet cleaning and decontamination of full protective clothing.

- The following personal protective equipment should be used:

protective suit, disposable protective clothing with protective head-covering, safety shoes (EN ISO 20345), protective nitrile rubber gloves (thickness 0.35 mm) (EN ISO 374), full face mask (EN 136), ABEK-filter (EN 14387)
