Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
According to the additional classification considerations in CLP Annex I, 2.7.4.2, the classification procedure for flammable solids need not be applied in cases where the substance is commonly known to be not flammable (i.e. stable salts or metal oxides). Moreover, experience in manufacture or handling and use (i.e. medication (human and animals), Dietary supplement and food additive) shows that flammability hazard can be excluded.
Endpoint:
substances / mixtures which in contact with water emit flammable gases
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be soluble in water to form a stable mixture
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
As the water solubility of the test item has been determinated at 20°C, according to OECD 105 (flask method), the substance does not react with water.
The testing can be waived.
Endpoint:
pyrophoric solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is known to be stable in contact with air at room temperature for prolonged periods of time (days) and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied
Justification for type of information:
JUSTIFICATION FOR DATA WAIVING
According to the additional classification considerations in CLP Annex I, 2.10.4, the classification procedure for pyrophoric solids need not be applied when experience in manufacture or handling shows that the substance or mixture does not ignite spontaneously on coming into contact with air at normal temperatures.
It can be considered that the substance do not have pyrophoric properties.(i.e. medication (human and animals, Dietary supplement and food additive)

Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
not classified

Additional information

The substance is not classified as flammable solid according to CLP criteria

Justification for classification or non-classification

According to the additional classification considerations in CLP Annex I, 2.10.4, and 2.7.4.2, the classification procedure for flammable solid and pyrophoric solids need not be applied when the substance is commonly known to be not flammable (i.e. stable salts) and when experience in manufacture or handling shows that the substance or mixture does not ignite spontaneously on coming into contact with air at normal temperatures.
