Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

25ºC
Details on study design: HPLC method:
EQUIPMENT
- Apparatus:Agilent 1200 Series Liquid Chromatograph with Chemstation software
- Type, material and dimension of analytical (guard) column: HyperClone CN (CPS) (25 cm x 4.6 mm internal diameter)
- Detection system: UV set at 210 nm

MOBILE PHASES
- Type: Acetonitrile:tetrahydrofuran:water (30:25:45 v/v/v)
- Experiments with additives carried out on separate columns: no

DETERMINATION OF DEAD TIME
- Method: An internal standard (formamide) with no retention on the HPLC column was used to determine the deadtime of the HPLC system.

REFERENCE SUBSTANCES
- Identity:
Internal deadtime standard (I.D.S.)
Acetanilide
Nitrobenzene
Naphthalene
2-Methylnaphthalene
Anthracene
DDT

DETERMINATION OF RETENTION TIMES
- Quantity of test substance introduced in the column: approximately 100 mg/l

REPETITIONS
- Number of determinations: Duplicates.

EVALUATION
- Calculation of capacity factors k':
- Calculation of retention times:
- Determination of the log Koc value:
Key result
Type:
log Koc
Value:
> 5.6 dimensionless
Temp.:
25 °C
Details on results (HPLC method):
The first eluting peak at 2.8 minutes in the standard and sample chromatograms was the internal deadtime standard, formamide. It was evident that all components of the reference mixture eluted earlier than the main components of AO-26 under the test
conditions, with the last standard (DDT, known log10Koc = 5.6) eluting after 6.7 minutes. A value of log10Koc for AO-26 of greater than 5.6 was thus obtained.
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
The main components of AO-26 were found to have log10Koc values of greater than 5.6.
Executive summary:

OECD 121

Soil adsorption - Log10Koc > 5.6

Description of key information
