- Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
- guideline study
- Remarks:
- The EU Method A.9 is applicable to liquid substances or low melting solids whose vapours can be ignited by ignition sources, only. Since the substances melts at 51.9 °C, the test system is considered as valid for that test item.

- Remarks:
- The test item is a low melting point solid and therefore a syringe could not be used to add the test material to the sample cup. Instead the test material was weighed into the sample cup.

Description of key information
The flash point of the test item was determined to be 157 ± 2 °C at 101.83 kPa.
The EU Method A.9 is applicable to liquid substances or low melting solids (i.e., < 160°C) whose vapours can be ignited by ignition sources, only. Since the melting point of the test item is 52 °C, the test system is considered as valid for that substance.
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Flash point at 101 325 Pa:
- 157 °C
