Description of key information

In contact with water the substance will hydrolyse slowly.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The hydrolysing properties of the reaction mass of citronellyl acetate and neryl acetate and geranyl acetate

were examined in a GLP guideline study with the main component geranyl acetate (59.9%) according to OECD 111. Results show that the substance hydrolyses slowly in contact with water of pH 4, pH 7 and pH 9, respectively (BASF AG, 2010).

Significant reaction products are geraniol at pH 9 as well as an isomer of geraniol at pH 4 and 7.
