Endpoint:
vapour pressure
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
weight of evidence
Reliability:
2 (reliable with restrictions)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: Read across from structural analogue. The Kation is the same, only the inorganic anion is different.
Justification for type of information:
An experimental derived value is available for a surrogate material. The difference between the materials is only the inorganic anion (BF4- vs. Cl-). The kation is the same in both substances, for which reason the influence of the kation on the properties is the same in both molecules. So only the anion could cause a difference in the properties. A comparison of Sodium chloride and sodium tetrafluoroborate indicates, that the chlorid anion increases the melting point and the boiling point compared with the BF4-anion. Therefore it can be concluded, that the vapour pressure of the substance in this registration is likely to be lower than of the testet surrogate. This information is sufficient for a risk assessment.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The vapour pressures of the test item Tecnoflon BA 104 cannot be interpolated and extrapolated for the temperatures 20, 25 and 50 °C, according to Regulation EC No. 440/2008 Method A.4. Vapour Pressure and OECD Test Guideline 104 (2006). The vapour pressure can only be estimated to be below the detection limit of the apparatus:
Temperature / °C Vapour pressure / Pa
20 <10-3
25 <10-3
50 <10-3
