First-aid measures
GENERAL INFORMATION
In case of accident or if you feel unwell, seek medical advice immediately.
AFTER INHALATION
Supply fresh air and to be sure call for a doctor.
AFTER SKIN CONTACT
Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor.
AFTER EYE CONTACT
Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. Then consult a doctor.
AFTER SWALLOWING
Rinse out mouth and then drink plenty of water. Call a doctor immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
EXTINGUISHING MEDIA
Suitable extinguishing agents: CO2, powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam.
For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: Water with full jet.
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: In case of fire, carbon monoxide (CO), acetylacetone, acetone and acetic acid, can be produced.
ADVICE FOR FIREFIGHTERS
Protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device and fully protective suit.
Accidental release measures
PERSONAL PRECAUTIONS, PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals. Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away. Avoid formation of dust.
ENVIRONMENTAL PRECAUTIONS
Do not allow to enter sewers/surface or groundwater Do not allow to penetrate the ground/soil.
METHODS AND MATERIAL FOR CONTAINMENT AND CLEANING UP
Pick up mechanically. Send for recovery or disposal in suitable receptacles.
Handling and storage
PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING
Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away. The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals. Avoid contact with the substance. Prevent formation of dust.
INFORMATION ABOUT FIRE -AND EXPLOSION PROTECTION:
Dust can combine with air to form an explosive mixture. Keep ignition sources away. Do not smoke. Protect from heat. Protect against electrostatic charges.
CONDITIONS FOR SAFE STORAGE, INCLUDING ANY INCOMPATIBILITIES
Requirements to be met by storerooms and receptacles: Store in cool conditions
Information about storage in one common storage facility: Not required.
Further information about storage conditions: Store under inert gas. Keep container tightly sealed. Protect from heat and direct sunlight.
Recommended storage temperature: ≤ 25°C

GENERAL PROTECTIVE AND HYGIENIC MEASURES
- The usual precautionary measures are to be adhered to when handling chemicals
- Do not eat, drink, smoke or sniff while working
- Avoid contact with the eyes and skin
-Use dust proof working clothing
- Respiratory protection: Use Air-stream helmet with cover and respiration protection filter A/P3 (e.g. product from 3M model HT-125)
- Protection of hands: Protective gloves.
- The glove material has to be impermeable and resistant to the product/the substance/the preparation. Selection of the glove material on consideration of the penetration times, rates of diffusion and the degradation.
- Material of gloves: the selection of the suitable glove does not only depend on the material, but also on further marks of quality and varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
- Penetration time of glove material: The exact break through time has to be found out by the manufacturer of the protective gloves and has to be observed.
- For the permanent contact gloves made of the following material are suitable: Fluorocarbon rubber (Viton)
- Eye protection: Use Air-Stream helmet with cover and respiration protection filter A/P3 (e.g. product from 3M model HT-125)
- Body protection: Because the material has sensitising potential, use a completely dust proof protective clothing (dust-proof one-way overall with integrated hood, air-stream helmet for protection of the face and the neck, working boots).
Stability and reactivity
- Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: To avoid decomposition do not overheat. Prevent formation of dust.
- Decomposition starts at: > 185°C
- Possibility of hazardous reactions: No dangerous reactions known
- Conditions to avoid: No further relevant information available
- Incompatible materials: No further relevant information available.
- Hazardous decomposition products: Acetylacetone.
Disposal considerations
