Description of key information
Appearance:
On the basis of physical observation chemical was observed to be a off white colored powder in appearance.
Melting point:
The melting point determination of test material was done following OECD Guideline 102 and according to the metal block capillary method. The test was conducted in replicates and mean melting temperature range was determined to be 68.6 °C- 71.8 °Cat 966.4 hPa .
Boiling Point:
The boiling point determination of test material was done following OECD Guideline 103 and according to the method of Siwoloboff. The test was conducted and boiling point was determined to be greater than 250 °C at 969.8 hPa.
Density:
The density of test material was determined following OECD Guideline 109 and according to the method adapted from ASTM D 854-02 using glass pyknometer . The density of the test item was determined to be 1.177 g/cm³ at 20 °C and 966.5 hPa.
Particle size distribution:
The particle size distribution of test test item was determined by granulometric analysis with rotap sieve shaker. The particle size distribution was determined to be in the range of 150 micron to 10 micron.
Vapour pressure:
Modified Grain method was used to estimate the vapour pressure of the test chemical using MPBPVP v1.43 of EPI SUITE. The estimated vapor pressure of the test chemical is 0.00257 Pa at 25°C.
Partition coefficient:
The partition Coefficient n-octanol/water of test material was determined by the Reverse Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatographic method according to OECD Guideline No. 117 for testing of Chemicals.The reference substances were chosen according to structural similarity with the test substance and calibration graph was prepared. The reference substances were benzene, biphenyl, toluene, ethylbenzene, n-butylbenzene and napthalene having Pow value ranging from 2.1 to 4.6. The Log Pow value for test material was determined to be 2.52276 ± 0.0064 at 25°C.
Water solubility:
The water solubility determination of test item was done as per the OECD guideline 105 and OECD 101 for spectrophotometric determination. The solubility of test material in water was determined to be 22.1185 mg/L at 28°C.Based on the value, the test item can be considered to be slightly soluble in water.
Surface tension:
In accordance with column 2 of Annex VII of the REACH regulation, this testing needs to be carried out only if surface activity is a desired property of the chemical. The chemical is used as a fluorescent whitening agent . For this use, surface activity is not a desired property and hence this end point is considered for waiver.
Flash point:
The flash point determination of test material was done following closed cup method using Pensky-Martens flash point apparatus. The test was conducted in replicates and mean flash point was found to be 150.6 °C at 966.3 hPa. Based on criteria mentioned in CLP regulation the chemical has flash point >than 60 degree C hence the test material was considered to be non-flammable.
Auto flammability:
The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a solid having a melting point <= 160°C.

Explosiveness:
The study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties

Appearance:
Based on the lab report the appereance of test material was observed to be a off white colored powder in appearance.In authoritative database it was observed that test material was light tan colored granules in appearance.Based on available data from handbook the chemical was Crystals from in appearance.

According to the lab report , the melting point determination of test material was done following OECD Guideline 102 and according to the metal block capillary method. The test was conducted in replicates and mean melting temperature range was determined to be 68.6 °C- 71.8 °Cat 966.4 hPa .
In authoritative database ,based on available data from authoritative database,the melting point of chemical was determined to be in the range of 68 degree C to 72 degree C. Based on available data from review article the melting point of chemical was determined to be 89 degree C
