- Interpretation of results:
- under test conditions no biodegradation observed
- Conclusions:
- The test item was tested for ready biodegradation following OECD 301C. Under the test conditions the test item is not ready biodegradable.
- Executive summary:
The ready biodegradability of the test item was determined in a 14 days MITI - Test (I) according to the OECD Guideline for Testing of Chemicals, No. 301C, Paris 1981 and the EEC-Directive, 79/831, Annex V, C.7. The test substance was tested in a concentration of 100 mg/l. The reference substance Natriumbenzoat was also tested in a concentration of 100 mg/l. Under the experimental conditions the test substance is not readily biodegradable.

Description of key information
not readily or inherently biodegradable
Key value for chemical safety assessment
- Biodegradation in water:
- under test conditions no biodegradation observed
Additional information
The read-across substance was tested for ready biodegradation following OECD 301C. The read-across substance was tested for inherent biodegradation following OECD 302C Zahn Wellens test. Under the experimental conditions the test item is neither inherently nor readily biodegradable.
Based on the read-across considerations the same results apply to Acid Black 220.
