First-aid measures

4.1. Description of first aid measures

IF ON SKIN: Wash with plenty of soap and water. Take off contaminated clothing and wash before reuse.

IF IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

IF INGESTED: Rinse mouth thoroughly. Get medical attention if you feel unwell.

IF INHALED: Remove victim to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If you feel unwell, get medical attention.

4.2. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed

Acute effects: Skin and eye irritation.

Delayed effects: Repeated or prolonged skin contact may cause an allergic reaction.

4.3. Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed

In order to prevent secondary exposure, first-aiders should wear protective gloves/ protective clothing/ eye and face protection as appropriate.

Fire-fighting measures

5.1. Extinguishing media

 Suitable extinguishing media:

Water spray, fog or mist. Carbon dioxide or dry chemical powder

 Unsuitable extinguishing media:

 No information.

5.2. Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Fire or high temperature creates carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrocarbons.

5.3. Advice for firefighters

Remove containers from fire area if it can be done without risk.

Self contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire-fighting.

Accidental release measures

6.1. Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures

 For non-emergency personnel:

 Keep unnecessary personnel away.

 For emergency responders:

Wear suitable protective equipment (see Section 8. Exposure Controls and Personal Protective Equipment) to avoid contact with eyes and skin or inhalation. Isolate area. Remove sources of ignition.

6.2. Environmental precautions

Prevent entry into waterways, sewers, basements or confined areas.

6.3. Methods and material for containment and cleaning up

Prevent further leakage or spillage if it can be done safely. Use sand, perlite or vermiculite as an absorbent for large spills of this material.

Sweep up or gather material and place in an appropriate container until disposal.

6.4. Reference to other sections

Refer to “Section 8 Exposure controls/ personal protection” and “Section 13 Disposal consideration” as appropriate.

Handling and storage

7.1. Precautions for safe handling

Containment and measures for safe handling:

Keep away from sources of ignition – No smoking. Avoid contact with eyes, skin and ingestion. Do not breathe dust/mist/vapours/spray. When using this product, do not eat or drink. Wash hands immediately after handling. Do not discharge onto ground or into watercources.

 Incompatible substances or mixture:

 Acids, bases, oxidising agents

7.2. Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities

Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated, and fire-proof place.

Keep away from heat, sparks, open flame and sunlight.

7.3. Specific end use(s)

 UV-curable resin

Exposure controls / personal protection

8.1. Control parameters

 Occupational Exposure Limits:

   Toluene:       20 ppm (ACGIH TLVs-TWA)

   8-h: 50 ppm, 15-min: 100 ppm (Directive 2006/15/EC, UK EH40/2005 WELs)

   Other ingredients: Not established.

8.2. Exposure controls

 Appropriate engineering controls:

Provide adequate local exhaust ventilation to maintain workplace concentration below exposure limits.

Individual protection measures, such as personal protective equipment:

Hand protection:       Use suitable protective gloves if risk of skin contact is concerned.

Eye/ face protection:       Wear approved safety goggles.

Skin protection:       Wear oil-resistant work clothing as appropriate.

Respiratory protection:       Wear protective safety mask suitable for organic solvents or self contained respirators as appropriate.

Environmental exposure controls:       Avoid release to the environment.

Stability and reactivity

10.1. Reactivity

Not reactive under prescribed storage conditions

10.2. Chemical stability

  Stable under prescribed storage conditions

10.3. Possibility of hazardous reactions

Fire or high temperature creates carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) and hydrocarbons.

10.4. Conditions to avoid

Avoid contact with strong oxidisers, sunlight, heat or UV-ray except unless it is the intended.

10.5. Incompatible materials

  Acids, bases or oxidising agents

10.6. Hazardous decomposition products

Carbon monoxide (CO), carbon dioxide (CO2) and/or hydrocarbons

Disposal considerations

13.1. Waste treatment methods

Dispose of contents/ container in accordance with all applicable regulations.

Waste should be dealt with as controlled industrial waste. Land disposal should be carried out only licensed sites in accordance with local Waste Disposal Authority.

It is recommended to incinerate waste.
