Additional information

The substance is a yellow powder at 1013 hPa and 20 °C. Particle size distribution analysis showed a MMD of 8.576 µm. The relative density resulted to be 1.780 at 20 °C.

Acid Yellow 017 decomposes before melting/boiling at temperature above 335 °C. Vapour pressure can be considered negligible.

The substance is very soluble in water (120460 mg/l at 20 °C and pH 6.28) and is characterized by a negative logPow, i.e. -2.4586 at 20 °C and at pH of 6.42, that means it has a low affinity to the organic phase.

Acid Yellow 017 is not expected to be auto-flammable, flammable, explosive and it is deemed to be potentially not oxidising based on the chemical structure, the oxygen balance values and the known experience in the handling and use of the substance.
