NL and FR recommended that the substance not be classified due to lack of data.

However, QSAR estimates suggested that the substance should be classified with N; R51-

53. The QSAR proposal was based on the acute toxicity values for fish, daphnia and algae

between 1 and 10 mg/l; logP = 3.5; and not readily biodegradable. UK could agree to

classification with N; R51-53 if the QSARs used were reliable. It was confirmed that the

estimates were reliable as was shown by extensive validation of the used QSAR models.

The QSARs were used conform the recommendations made in chapter 4 on QSARs in the

EU Technical Guidance Document for risk assessment. CEFIC could also agree with this

proposal considering the chemical structure of this entry.

Conclusion: The Group agreed that the substance should be classified with N; R51-53

on the basis of the QSAR estimates.”
