Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The acute aquatic toxicity of the test item was assessed in a fish, Daphnia and algae study.

The acute toxicity to fish (zebrafish) was assessed according to OECD 203 in a semi-static limit test at 0.8 mg/L (corresponding to 0.643 mg/L geometric mean measured concentration). The LC0 corresponds to 0.643 mg/L, whereas the LC50 and LC100 are > 0.643 mg/L.

The toxicity of the test item towards aquatic invertebrates, Daphnia, was examined in a study according to 92/69/EEC method C.2 and GLP. Daphnia magna were exposed to the test item for 48 hours. The EC50 (48h) was determined to be 2.8 mg/L based on a geometric mean based on the EC0-EC100 values (nominal concentrations).

The influence of test item on the growth of the freshwater green algae Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was assessed in a static concentration-response test according to OECD Guideline 201. The EC50-value for inhibition of growth rate (ErC50) after 72 hours is 0.386. The EC10-value for inhibition of growth rate (ErC10) after 72 hours is 0.122 mg/L and the NOEC-value 0.0486 mg/L.

The toxicity to microorganisms was not assessed seperately. Instead results of the toxicity control in the ready biodegradability study are used. In the Manometric Respirometry Ready biodegradability test no inhibition of the microbial activity at a substance concentration of 100 mg/L was observed. The concentration used in the toxicity control (100 mg/L) can be used as NOEC value.
