Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No studies investigating the Henry’s law constant of Fusel oil are available. As this is a UVCB substance, the Henry’s law constant was calculated for the representative components using HENRYWIN v3.20 (Kampara, 2013). The obtained Henry’s law constants range from 0.50 to 1.68 based on Group estimation and from 0.57 Pa m3/mol to 1.34 Pa m3/mol based on Bond estimation, for the different constituents. The results indicate that depending on the constituent, evaporation from water into the atmosphere is either unlikely or is expected to be very slow. As this study is not a standard information requirement in REACH and there is no indication from the CSA on the need to investigate further the fate and behaviour of the substance, no further testing is considered necessary.
