Conclusion on classification

o-Toluidine is legally classified as dangerous for the environment and so included in Annex I of Directive 67/548/EEC and in Regulation 1272/2008 (CLP), including its 2nd and 3th ATP.

Daphnia magna were found to be the most sensitive aquatic species.

The lowest value on acute aquatic toxicity is an 48h-EC50 of 0.12 mg/L.

Concerning long-term toxicity the lowest value is a 21d-NOEC of 0.011 mg/l.

The substance is readily biodegradable and the log Kow is 1.4 (exp. result).

Regarding acute toxicity, o-Toluidine is classified according to Directive 67/548/EEC as R50 and according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 as Aquatic Acute Category 1 and an M-factor of 1 is assigned.

Regarding chronic toxicity, o-Toluidine is classified according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 as Aquatic Chronic Category 1 and an M-factor of 1 is also assigned.
