Description of key information

Self-ignition temperature: >1300 degree C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Based on the ionic structure of KI and its melting point (681 degree C) and boiling point (1323 degree C), it can conclude that there is no self-ignition occuring up to the boiling point (i.e. above 1300 degree C), thus no further test is required.
