Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
- General advice : Irritating effects will be first visible after some hours.
- Eye contact : Immediately flush eyes with running water for at least 15 minutes without interruption. Consult a
doctor.
- Skin contact : Wash thoroughly with a plenty of water using a mild soap. Consult a doctor.
- Inhalation : Remove injured person to fresh air.
- Ingestion : Drink water in small sips (Diluting effect). Give medicinal coal. Consult a doctor.
- Please note our recommendations on treatment: „Organotin compounds - advice on toxicology and safe handling„.
Fire-fighting measures
- Extinguishing agent : Foam, Dry powder, Carbon dioxide
- In case of fire can be released : Carbon monoxide; risk of formation of toxic pyrolysis products.
- Protective equipments : Respiratory protection mask
- Further information : Dispose residues of fire and contaminated fire-water according official regulations. Keep firewater
away from sewer system or surface water.
Accidental release measures
- Personal precautions : Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Remove contaminated clothes immediately. Wear protective
clothing, safety gloves and safety goggles. Provide sufficient ventilation.
- Environmental precautions : Keep away from sewer system and surface water.
- Methods for cleaning up : Sweep up with liquid-absorbing material like sand, sawdust, silica gel. Dispose according
official regulations. Wear respiratory protection mask during cleaning operation.
Handling and storage
- Safe handling advices : Use exhausting system during filling operations.
- Advices for storage : Work on solvent-resistant and -tight floor. Keep drums closed. Avoid heating. Do not
store together with food and feed. Storage class: 10
- Measures to prevent fire and explosions : Keep away from sources of ignition. Not smoking.
