Additional information

The ready biodegradability of the test item was evaluated in the Manometric Respirometry Test (OECD 301 F) on the basis of the BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand) parameter. The degradation rate was calculated as a percentage of the BOD/COD ratio. Under the experimental conditions of the OECD 301 F test, test 1 showed a degradation result of 64 % BOD28/COD. Thus, the test item turned out to be readily biodegradable (degradation level > 60 %) (Henkel, 1999).

Based on this information, the substance is expected to be rapidly biodegraded by microorganisms in both aquatic and terrestrial environments and therefore, in accordance with Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006, Annex IX, Column 2, 9.2.1.2, 9.2.1.3 and 9.2.1.4, further simulation testing on biodegradation of the substance in water, sediment and soil is not required.
